The town of Columbia is owned by the state and is the only State Historic Park that is also a thriving goldrush era town with a bustling town center, restored to the splendor of the 1850's. Columbia is not a museum, it has a museum, it is a living town full of commercial establishments, including restaurants, shops, lodging and theater. On most weekends and many weekdays you'll find strolling musicians and people of all ages dressed in period costume. You'll enjoy the wild west including stagecoach rides and horseback riding. The goldrush is very apparent, the huge boulders left after hydromining, gold panning right off mainstreet and the old boardwalks. Come enjoy the history and fun. To learn more about Columbia.
