Investing

Thanks for coming. You're here because you were invited, no one can find it from surfing the web yet. I'm just now beginning to formulate what I want to put here.

Among the things I want to do is to provide information to the investors that I meet as I get to know the investors in Northern California. I'm visiting investing clubs, hoping to meet a variety of investors. We get better at doing what we do by having a wide variety of investors with varying backgrounds to interact with.

Investors that I have met so far have a variety of backgrounds. I don't want this to be about me and my investment ideas and formulas. I want it to be a compendium of ideas and formulas, to be eventually filled out into something fuller. You can see a very brief history of what led me to investing in real estate in 1972 here.

Feel free to send me information, about you, about ideas and transactions that you have put together that were fun. Please tell me whether or not you want the information posted to the site. Tell me what you want to see here. Maybe I'll put a message board here to make the process easier and quicker.

You can see that I've decided to have a reading list. In my opinion the first book on the right is first for your reading list. It will help you begin to develop the mindset of the investor if you haven't already. For those who haven't read it for a while, please re-read it.

The second book on the list is for folks who haven't learned how to live on a budget AND put away cash for investments out of their current income. This book will show you some excellent ways to accomplish this. It reinforces the importance of budgeting and setting aside funds.

I believe very strongly about doing business in my local community with locally owned and operated businesses. I think it's the responsible thing for investors to do. Just in case your local community doesn't have a locally owned and operated bookstore, I linked the selections in the column to the right to Amazon dot com. I think it's very important that if you're going to be an investor pick up a copy.

The links at the left don't work yet.
