Background
Rob grew up in a suburb of Los Angeles, CA. during the 50's. Rob was taught sales at a very early age. His dad told him often that anyone who has a strong background in sales will always have a job, whether or not that job is in sales. The art of getting a job is sales, you have to sell your potential boss that you are the person for the job.
Rob has always been one of those restless souls who is very intelligent but gets bored easily. The schools didn't care much for him as he didn't fit their mold. Rob was okay with that as he didn't care much for them either and left after high school.
After doing many different types of sales in his youth, Rob found an opportunity in labor at about 19 years old. A friend was ready to move on from his small business cleaning supermarket floors.
Rob jumped at the chance to own his first business. After more than doubling sales, Rob realized that labor wasn't his first love, it's hard work. He sold the business to an employee for a nice profit and never looked back.
Not knowing what to do next but realizing that he didn't want to do it in Los Angeles, Rob made his first big move.
San Luis Obispo county was much more to his liking. Rob tried a few jobs and realized that they are far too limiting. Most of the time you are limited to just a few, sometimes only one, thing that you do all day, plus the sceenery didn't change much.
Rob lucked out and came across a partner who was looking for his raw energy and intelligence. With this partners assistance Rob obtained his first investment property in 1972, a triplex.
