Giving back to the community doesn't have to be big, expensive or time consuming. You can teach someone a skill such as reading or give a few dollars to a favorite organization. Last year Habitat for Humanity was asking for donations of $5.00. When the dust settled they had more than $7,000.00. What do you do most often? How can you use those skills to help out? I was on my way to the Tuolumne County Sheriffs Posse grounds to enjoy the annual steak dinner to kickoff the 45th annual roundup parade and rodeo. As I was turning down rawhide road I saw a local childrens baseball team having a carwash to raise money. I pulled in to get my car washed. They wanted $3.00 to wash my car. There were kids all over the place, having great fun, squirting, running, screaming, laughing, washing, drying. For only $3.00 everyone not only got a clean car and did something to give back but were entertained. See how easy it is to give back? Next time you pass one of those car washes manned by children, pull in and enjoy the show. |
