Tuolumne County is known as "the Playland with a Heart of Gold". Tuolumne County has a myriad of playland activities, we will make an effort to give you a feel for what some of those activities are. At the center of Tuolumne County is the Goldrush. Even though Tuolumne County has miles and miles of pastureland it is one of the steepest counties in California, beginning at about 300 feet elevation in the west to more than 12,000 feet elevation in the east. Tuolumne County has a population of approximately 50,000 and supports 3 live theater companies.
